| Description: | Preparation of engineering drawings utilizing the current version of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation in use by Thompson Engineering. The CAD Technician must represent the Company with quality and timely deliverables in concert with knowledge and understanding of the project objectives. |
| Duties: | Preparation of CAD engineering drawings.
• Operation of drawing reproduction equipment.
• Operation of copy equipment.
• May be required of collate the project drawings of various disciplines into a biddable set.
• May be required to help in gathering field data, photographs, and dimensions required to perform work.
• May perform record research involving legal records pertaining to land titles, data acquisition from Client files, etc.
• May perform file and directory maintenance.
• Keep accurate records of time charges to projects.
• Perform related work as required.

4. Knowledge and Skills
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of standard terminology, techniques and practices of drafting.
• Knowledge of mathematics including algebra, trigonometry, and plane geometry.
• Knowledge of drafting and design nomenclature and symbols.
• Knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.
SKILLS:
• Ability to prepare moderate to complex engineering drawings neatly and accurately.
• Ability to make moderately complex mathematical computations accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches.
• Ability to effectively communicate with the design team.
• Ability to keep accurate records relating to work preformed on project assigned.
• Working knowledge of the operation of Microsoft Office software.
5. Education and Training
Education/Training:
• High School Degree or equivalent and (3) years experience in operation of CAD software and preparation of engineering drawings.
• Associated Degree in AutoCad/Drafting preferred
